Bio in the words of Christopher Sharits...
January 11, 2011
A dynamic biography is an ever-changing living document that should be about the current essence of your being as well as your accomplishments. At my core I am a father and husband, a daydreamer, a lover, a jokester, a thinker, and bipolar. Professionally, I am a writer, a painter, and the executor of the Paul Sharits Estate.
In my previous life, I was a successful and award winning paper pushing employee whipping manager and salesman. Since my relatively recent evolution, transformation, mid-life crisis, or whatever you want to call it, I have reinvented myself into a vessel of creativity.
My primary job is managing my late father's posthumous art and film career. Within that capacity I help, with the assistance from the Anthology Film Archives and the Greene Naftali Gallery, with the analysis, development, design, implementation, and evaluation of exhibitions, screenings, and publications virtually all over the world. We are already working on major projects for 2012-13.
My father's work can be seen in many of the world's most prominent museums and galleries such as The Museum of Modern Art NYC (MoMA), The Whitney NYC, the Albright-Knox Buffalo, Burchfield-Penny Buffalo, the Pompidou Paris, film screenings at the Louvre Paris, the Museum Serralves Portugal, Deutsche Kinemathek: Museum für Film und Fernsehen Berlin, and the Smithsonian's contemporary art museum, the Hirshhorn Washington D.C..
My writing includes a local column on Online Learning in Denver and one national column on the newly elected Colorado State Governor John Hickenlooper for the Examiner.com and Reuters. Occasionally I write on other subjects like hydro-politics for Ezine Articles.
From two to four hours a day I write on my novel “Positano” which is about a teenager from Boulder Colorado who suffers from bipolar disorder and experiences psychotic episodes, substance abuse, and an attempted suicide while living in Positano Italy. It should publish summer 2011.
I have been writing posts for my blog "My struggles with weight loss and bipolar disorder" since June 2009. I have written about weight loss surgery, veganism, vegetarianism, exercise, diet, daily stress, mental challenges, bipolar episodes, and now, hypnotherapy and the Gabriel Method. http://lose250.blogspot.com
