Writing for the piece “Do You Bleed Purple or Do You Bleed Blue?”

Do you bleed purple or do you bleed blue?
This is the question I ask you.
Now that you've signed and met your family's needs,
I ask you again, what color do you bleed?
You have taught me oh so much.
That's part of why I'll miss you a bunch.
I wish you luck in all you do.
But do you bleed purple or do you bleed blue?
I wish you'd have stayed, I wish you hadn't gone.
I wish you'd have stayed where I feel you belong.
But I know you must go where the Lord leads you to,
And take opportunities when presented to you.
And you can be sure I'll be stopping by,
Every now and then, just to say hi.
But there is something I must tell you and want you to know.
You will always be my hero no matter where you go.
But I'll ask you one more time for an answer that I need.
An answer to the question, what color do you bleed?

Writing for the piece “Clear Nights”
Clear nights gone.
Is it true?
Look at all these shades of blue.
I'm sitting here in front of you.
Wish I knew what to do.
